About TinkerCreations
TinkerCreations is a localized decoupage artisan and vendor that operated in Santa Barbara, California during the early 2000s, in the vibrant Santa Barbara arts scene. Beginning in a corner space of the legendary Cominichi’s, before launching the standalone storefront, GypsyBelle’s Art & Vintage Boutique, in San Roque Plaza (2005–2009). GypsyBelle's was renamed in the mid 2000's to be socially appropriate, to JOTS-Vintage, after the Frederico Fellini film Juliet of the Spirits, which resonated with the free spirited, colorful, and romantic vintage vibe, "and just happens to be one of my favorite movies" she said.
Before the era of Etsy, a piece of Tinkercreations decoupage carrying a tag or history from either location is a textbook example of early-2000s Central Coast retail culture.
A veteran of the Santa Barbara creative retail landscape, the original artist and creator of both the vintage brand and TinkerCreations, and is the force behind the newly revived, bespoke, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) handmade art pieces. As a novice, her journey began when she began sharing her decoupaged furniture and curated vintage collections evolved from her keen eye for vintage fashion, antique furniture, and original artistry.

Mission

Throughout her career, Erika’s signature has always been her intricate, hand-crafted artwork. Under her original Tinkercreations Decoupage label,
she became known for transforming forgotten items into stunning, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) statements. Today, she is officially reviving TinkerCreations for a new era—blending her deep love for vintage aesthetic with fresh, handmade mixed-media designs.
The Revival
The revival of TinkerCreations Decoupage and Vintage Recycled OOAK Art, focuses on the future, renewal, bringing life to the old and worn out to showcase everlasting beauty and timelessness. Keepsakes, and giftable bespoke, hand-crafted mixed-media decoupage, as well as OOAK accessories and upcycled fashion, jewelry, artisan collectible heritage art blending classic vintage inspiration with contemporary craftsmanship style.

Artist's Statement
Furniture, jewelry, paintings, fabric, photos of desserts, whatever sparks my fancy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Once I painted our apartment refrigerator a hot PINK - my roommate was not amused, and neither was our landlord. Oops.
It all started one fateful day in kindergarden when discovering that ironing crayons between pieces of wax paper - was a thing.
New decoupage and handpainted cigar boxes, paper mache pendants, denim handbags, & artisan, jewelrey near completion to be listed soon.
Every piece I create remains a deeply personal, standalone work of functional art meant to bring nostalgia and beauty to be enjoyed and passed on.
